The Professional
Woman Network (PWN) is a 3,800 member organization whose
members
have received certification and training and are from such
fields as education, healthcare, banking, religious organizations,
human resources, and consulting. A number of them are
trainers for large corporations, several are international
consultants, and over 200 members had existing consulting
practices but received further training from PWN so they
could
broaden their bases of offerings.
Facts about PWN members:
- 850 hold Masters Degrees
- 590 hold Doctorates
- 1,890 are African American
- 145 are ordained clergy
- 3 have traveled to China to consult
- 1 has traveled to the former Soviet Union to train
- 98% are female; 2% male
- 90% are consulting/training on a part-time basis
- 85% wish to do consulting on a full-time basis and will
eventually
- Are highly diverse, originating from such countries as Zimbabwe, Zambia, the Phillipines, England, Australia, Saudia Arabia, Egypt, Jamaica, Dominica, South Africa, Mexico, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Canada, Nigeria, Kenya, and Somalia
